One thing we find purpose in is Organisation Time.
This is the name we give to the time between 8.30am and 8.55am every morning. We have agreed that during this period, classroom spaces in Koru 1 will be for people getting ready for the day in a peaceful environment. We know that being organised is very important in school and in life, not only to achieve well in our learning, but also to eliminate unnecessary stress and help our day to flow well.
During Organisation Time, Koru 1 members might be seen...
- Organising our individual planners
- Completing unfinished learning tasks
- Organising our cubbies and stationery
- Completing our classroom jobs and helping out others
- Reading for enjoyment
- Chatting with teachers about our learning or personal news
Sheldon says, "Organisation Time is a time where I can fill out my planner and do my jobs I need to do. After I'm all organised for the day, I go out and play".
Bradley knows that writing goals after things have occurred is pointless. He says, "Instead of planning parts of my day after it has happened, I spend time doing it before school every morning".
Have a look at a timelapse of Organisation Time this morning.
What do you notice?
